Custom-Made from Client Designs
Not every fiberglass project starts with an existing product or standard mold. Many of the projects manufactured by SOARPEAN begin with a client’s drawing, 3D file, reference image or original design.
These custom dog and cat sculptures are one example.
Based on the client’s supplied designs, our team developed the forms and translated the different animal shapes into physical sculptures suitable for batch production.
The collection included several different dog and cat designs, each with its own body proportions, posture and character. Maintaining these details while achieving consistency across multiple pieces was an important part of the manufacturing process.
Fiberglass for Custom Sculptures
The sculptures were manufactured in fiberglass (FRP), a material particularly suitable for custom decorative objects and commercial display props.
Fiberglass allows us to reproduce complex three-dimensional forms while keeping the finished products relatively lightweight and durable. Once the original shape and molds are established, the same design can also be reproduced consistently for larger production quantities.
This makes FRP suitable for projects such as retail displays, visual merchandising props, decorative sculptures, brand installations and other custom commercial applications.
High-Gloss Black Automotive Paint Finish
One of the most important requirements of this project was the surface finish.
The client specified a deep, highly reflective glossy black appearance. To achieve this result, the sculptures were finished using an automotive-grade paint process.
A high-gloss black surface makes even small imperfections highly visible. The fiberglass surfaces therefore require careful preparation, sanding and repeated inspection before the final paint layers are applied.
The resulting finish creates a smooth, deep black surface with strong reflections and a premium appearance.
Consistency Across Batch Production
Producing one good sample is only part of a custom manufacturing project. For larger orders, consistency between individual pieces becomes equally important.
During production, SOARPEAN controls the fiberglass forming, assembly, surface preparation and painting processes so that sculptures produced from the same design maintain consistent shape and finish throughout the batch.
The production images from this project show multiple sculptures being manufactured and finished together before final inspection and packing.
